<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake capable of adjusting a clearance between a disc and a piston constant. <P>SOLUTION: This electric brake has a rotary disc 6 rotating together with a wheel, a nonrotatable disc 4 nonrotatably supported by a machine body and displaceable toward the rotary disc 6, a piston 28 capable of advancing-retreating toward the nonrotatable disc 4, an electric motor 21 for linearly moving the piston 28, and a controller 30 for controlling operation of the electric motor 21, and generates braking torque by pressing the nonrotatable disc 4 toward the rotary disc 6 via the piston 28 by the electric motor 21, and has a means for stopping the piston 28 after driving up to pressing to the nonrotatable disc 4, a means for detecting a position for stopping the piston 28 by being pushed back by reaction when stopping operation of the electric motor 21, and a means for adjusting an initial position of the piston 28 based on the stopping position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
