<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a technique of sweeping out a part of charge read into a charge transfer part to a substrate side even for a moving image. <P>SOLUTION: A drain part 43 is formed in a vertical transfer part 14, a separation layer 44 is preferably formed below the drain part 43, and a charge discharging structure of a vertical overflow drain structure using the drain part 43 as an overflow drain is formed in the vertical transfer part 14. In the charge discharging structure of the vertical overflow drain structure, a charge discharging pulse ϕNSUB is selectively applied to the drain part 43, thereby a part of the charge in the vertical transfer part 14 is swept out to the drain part 43 so as to be discharged through the drain part 43. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
