<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a small, high-speed, high-durability, and high-output linear actuator. <P>SOLUTION: Two cylindrical piezoelectric elements 3a and 3b are arranged coaxially with a cylindrical vibrator 2 having different diameters at the intermediate part and the end, and the piezoelectric elements 3a and 3b are fixed to the opposite ends of the vibrator 2. The vibrator 2 is then excited by applying an oscillating voltage, respectively, to electrodes 4a and 4b arranged on the inside of the piezoelectric elements 3a and 3b, and the wavefront of a traveling wave is brought into contact with a tubular member 1 to which the vibrator 2 is fitted. A moving body consisting of the vibrator 2 and the piezoelectric elements 3a and 3b is moved in the axial direction of the tubular member 1 by friction at the contact part of the vibrator 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
