PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of performing 2 in 1 printing at a high speed. SOLUTION: A manuscript G moves to a sub-scanning direction (direction of X), and a first line R1 in the surface is read by a CIS 17a for the surface and a first line R2 in the backside is read by a CIS 17b for the backside. When the first line R1 in the surface and the first line R2 in the backside are read, data of these two line units is combined and print data of one line is created. Then, printing of one line is carried out to the longitudinal direction of a recording paper conveyed in a sub-scanning direction (direction of Y). By repeating such processing sequentially, 2 in 1 printing is performed. Thereby, when data of one line are read by the CIS 17a for the surface and the CIS 17b for the backside, printing of one line can be performed sequentially.
