摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust tints of a read image by an image read unit which vary with temperature change through control to decrease a driving current value of a white LED without making dark the read image by the image read unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image reading device includes a driving current correction unit 2163 which corrects a driving current value of a light source according to a difference between chromaticity of a reference value stored in a reference value storage unit 2162 and chromaticity detected by a chromaticity detection unit 2161 during operation of a scanner unit 22, a light intensity detection unit 22a which detects light intensity of the light source driven with the driving current value after the correction, and a shading correction unit 218 which corrects a white reference value according to a difference between light intensity of a reference value stored in the reference value storage unit 2162 and light intensity of the light source after the driving current correction which is detected by the light intensity detection unit 22a, and corrects shading of an original image read by the scanner unit 22 using the white reference value after the correction.
