<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an Internet facsimile machine which performs normal communication, without encountering communication disabled state due to communication time out, even when image data of a large capacity are received, when a communication mode is set to a response mode, after process. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When image data of a large capacity which takes time more than a prescribed value until decoding processing serves as rate controlling and returns a response is received, a communication control part 79 makes an SMTP communication part 71 perform communication, to return an error code expressing temporary error to an outgoing terminal 69 of the received data, without waiting for the completion of decoding processing for the received data, thus communication session for the received data is temporarily disconnected.
