PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-organizing block copolymer that can form a micropattern or nanopattern by causing microphase or nanophase separation. SOLUTION: The block copolymer is composed of a repeating unit having a skeleton of styrene substituted with an oxygen-containing hydrocarbon group and a repeating unit having a skeleton of an α-substituted acrylic acid ester containing fluorine and, for example, is produced by subjecting p-(1-ethoxyethoxy)styrene and 2, 2, 2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate to living radical polymerization.
