PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model image acquisition support apparatus, a model image acquisition support method and a model image acquisition support program, for quickly and easily acquiring an optimum model image, for an image processing apparatus performing matching of a measurement image obtained by imaging a subject based on a preset model image. SOLUTION: A plurality of model image candidates to be candidates of a model image are extracted from reference images obtained by imaging a subject which can be a model. Matching processing based on the plurality of extracted model images is executed for a measurement image actually acquired by a visual sensor to obtain respective trial results. By evaluating the trial results of the matching processing based on each of the model images, evaluation results are generated. An optimum model image is determined based on the evaluation results.
