DECODER DEVICE, DIGITAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM, METHOD OF DECODING TS PACKET, AND METHOD OF MONITORING BROADCAST SUBTITLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting system easily identifying the cause of failure when abnormal broadcast subtitle data transmitted by a broadcast station is detected.

SOLUTION: When an ancillary subtitle multiplexed signal 1 including video data and ancillary subtitle data multiplexed in an ancillary region of the video data is converted to a TS packet signal 2 in a digital broadcasting signal format including a video TS packet and a broadcast subtitle TS packet by an encoder device 101, the TS packet signal 2 is input to the decoder device 105; a video TS packet included in the TS packet signal 2 is decoded to video data; and the broadcast TS packet is converted to ancillary subtitle data, and multiplexed in the ancillary region of the video data to be output to an ancillary subtitle display device 106. The ancillary subtitle display device 106 outputs subtitle data obtained by decoding the ancillary subtitle data to a video monitor/speaker 107 as a signal superimposed on the video data and displays the subtitle data on a screen.
