MAGNESIUM ETHOXIDE HAVING COARSE PARTICLE CONTENT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnesium ethoxide which can be produced in an economical manner. SOLUTION: Granular magnesium ethoxide having a coarse grain content of less than 40% by mass of a screening fraction of below 500 micrometer and more than 60% by mass of a screening fraction of above 500 micrometer and containing no catalyst can be obtained by reacting metallic magnesium with liquid ethanol under pressure higher than 1 bar (absolute) at a temperature higher than 78°C and subsequently separating the product.
