PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide production equipment for molded coke, with which simplification of equipment is achieved and power saving of use energy is achieved when molded coke for metallurgy is produced by using a vertical dry distillation furnace, and to provide a method for producing molded coke using the equipment. SOLUTION: The production equipment for molded coke is a vertical dry distillation furnace for continuously producing molded coke by dry distilling a molded material of a carbon-containing substance. In the dry distillation furnace 2 for performing dry distillation of the molded material in a dry distillation zone at an upper part and cooling of the molded coke in a cooling zone at a lower part, the production equipment, characterized by including: a low temperature gas-blowing tuyere 5 at the intermediate part of the dry distillation zone on the side of the dry distillation furnace 2; a high temperature gas-blowing tuyere 6 at a lower part of the dry distillation zone on the side of the dry distillation furnace 2; a cooling gas-blowing tuyere 9 at a lower part of the cooling zone on the side of the dry distillation furnace 2; a charging port of the molded material and a furnace gas exhaust port at a top part of the dry distillation furnace 2; and a discharge port of the molded coke at a lower part of the dry distillation furnace 2, is used.
