CARBON NANOTUBE COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanotube composite material and a method for making the same. SOLUTION: The method for making the carbon nanotube composite material comprises: a first step of providing a carbon nanotube structure consisting of at least one carbon nanotube; a second step of forming a metal-coated layer on the surface of the at least one carbon nanotube of the carbon nanotube structure; and a third step of electrifying the carbon nanotube structure in vacuum to melt the metal-coated layer formed on the outside surface of the at least one carbon nanotube and simultaneously react the metal in the metal-coated layer with the carbon of the carbon nanotube so that a plurality of metal carbide particles are formed on the outside surface of the carbon nanotube.
