PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a billet cutter capable of maintaining high cutting performance, and capable of regulating easily a clearance even in a large-sized cutter. SOLUTION: This billet cutter includes a hydraulic cylinder 3 attached, on a piston rod, with a movable blade block 6 having an attached movable blade 4, right and left frames 1 fixed with a fixed blade 2 and the hydraulic cylinder 3, and a guide mechanism for the movable blade block 6. The guide mechanism comprises guide holes 7 formed respectively in the right and left frames 1, right and left sliding parts 8 projected sideways to be faced to the guide holes 7, in the movable blade block 6, a fixed liner 23 provided between the sliding parts 8 and the guide holes 7, a wedge-shaped guide body 10 comprising a wedge-shaped movable guide 15 and a wedge-shaped fixed guide 11, a pushing type clearance regulating mechanism 20 using a push bolt 21 for pushing the movable guide 15 into the wedge-shaped fixed guide 11, and a pulling type clearance regulating mechanism 30 using an extraction bolt 31 for extracting the movable guide 15 from the wedge-shaped fixed guide 11.
