The present invention relates to an online content marketplace system and a method of operating the system, in which the authors of personal media content can share their writing, individuals or groups can purchase necessary shared content, and purchased content is provided such that it can be conveniently and effectively used. Using an online content marketplace system including a content sale means (100), a content purchase means (200), a content marketplace server (300), and a data communication network (400), a content seller uploads content to his or her personal media site such as a blog, when the intention to publicly post the content is disclosed, corresponding content is registered in a posting-authorized content DB, a content purchaser purchases desired content posted on a marketplace, and content can be posted on a his or her company website only by inserting a simple script code thereto.
