<p>Provided are a liquid crystal display device using polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC), and a method for manufacturing the same. A liquid crystal display device (50a) is provided with a first substrate (30a) and a second substrate (20), which are disposed so as to face each other, a polymer dispersed liquid crystal layer (25) which is provided between the first substrate (30a) and the second substrate (20), and a black matrix (21) which is provided in the first substrate (30a), wherein a display region (D) for displaying an image and a frame region (F) around the display region (D) are defined. In the frame region (F), the black matrix (21) is configured from a plurality of light shielding portions (21b) which are apart from each other. Unreacted monomers in the frame region are prevented from seeping to the display region, and thus nonuniformity of display due to seepage at the peripheral end of the display region is prevented. The present invention is useful for liquid crystal display panels which perform display while performing switching between transmission and scattering in the display region.</p> |
