An image displaying/image detecting apparatus is provided with: a display/optical sensor section (300) which displays an image and reads images in the vicinity; a browser processing section (11), which makes the display/optical sensor section (300) display a window which includes a placing region on which a subject is placed; an API processing section (12), which converts a first region information which indicates the arrangement of the placing region in the window into second region information which indicates the arrangement of the placing region in the display/optical sensor section (300); and a driver processing section (15), which obtains the read images, i.e., the images in the vicinity read by the display/optical sensor section (300) in a region specified based on the second region information.
