<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge cap capable of confirming whether an unused state in which a lid is not opened is maintained or not. <P>SOLUTION: The hinge cap includes: a body 1 fixed to a container mouth 21; a peripheral wall 2 surrounding the body 1; and the lid 5 able to open or close the body 1 by its being connected to the peripheral wall 2 via a hinge 6. The lid 5 is provided with a locking member 7 having a claw 8 held so as not to be pulled by its being caught by the lower ends 3 of two ribs 3 extended between the body 1 and peripheral wall 2. The locking member 7 is connected to the lid 5 by means of a breakable piece 9, which can be cut by opening the lid 5. The ribs 3 have upper ends 3b defining an empty space S, through which the body 2 is visible, between the locking member 7 and the lid 5 by falling of the locking member 7 separated from the lid 5. The upper end 2a of the peripheral wall 2 is notched, thereby providing the peripheral wall 2 with a recess A through which the locking member 7 is visible.
