METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SEALED BATTERY, AND SEALED BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a sealed battery capable of obtaining a welded part of a high reliability when a current collector and a current collector receiving component are resistance-welded to a core body in an electrode body of a sealed battery having exposed parts of a positive electrode core body and a negative electrode core body each at both ends.

SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the sealed battery 10 includes: a process to form an electrode body 11 for the sealed battery having exposed parts 14, 15 of a plurality of positive electrode core bodies and negative electrode core bodies each at both ends; a process in which the current collector 18 and the current collector receiving component 25 each having hemispherical projected parts 18a and 25a on both sides of at least one of the exposed parts 14 and 15 of the plurality of positive electrode core bodies and the plurality of negative electrode core bodies are arranged so that each of the hemispherical projected parts 18a and 25a may be opposed to each other at a position shifted by one-half or less of the diameters of the hemispherical projected part 18a and 25a; and a process for conducting resistance welding by flowing a current while applying a pressure between the current collector 18 and the current collector receiving component 25.
