SINGLE-CORE BIDIRECTIONAL OPTICAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM, SINGLE-CORE BIDIRECTIONAL OPTICAL AMPLIFIER, AND SINGLE-CORE BIDIRECTIONAL OPTICAL TRANSMISSION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-core bidirectional optical transmission system inexpensively extending a single-core bidirectional optical transmission path.

SOLUTION: A plurality of optical signals different in wavelength are multiplexed. Bidirectional transmission is performed between a first optical transmission/reception terminal 10A and a second optical transmission/reception terminal 10B via a single-core bidirectional transmission path 500. First signal light from an optical transmitter (Tx) 200 in the first optical transmission/reception terminal 10A and second signal light to be input to an optical receiver (Rx) 300 in the first optical transmission/reception terminal 10A via the single-core bidirectional transmission path 500 are multiplexed in the same direction using a Red/Blue filter 120 that is an example of an optical multiplexing element, and collectively amplified in an optical amplification part 110 of a single optical amplifier 100 by using the first signal light of a larger signal level as clamp light. The amplified second and first signal light are demultiplexed to the optical receiver (Rx) 300 and the single-core bidirectional transmission path 500, respectively, by a Red/Blue filter 130 that is an example of an optical demultiplexing element.
