<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize emission light and to enhance brightness, relating to a surface light-emitting device where a plurality of dots containing white pigments are printed on a light guide plate. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light-emitting device includes a light guide plate 1 with end faces 14a and 14b which allow transmission of incident light, a reflecting surface 12 which is perpendicular to the end faces 14a and 14b and on which a plurality of dots 11 containing white pigments reflecting the transmission light from the end faces 14a and 14b are printed, and a display surface 13 which faces the reflecting surface 12 and emits reflection light from the reflecting surface 12, as well as light sources 2a and 2b that are positioned along the end faces 14a and 14b to emit incident light.
