PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner capable of eliminating the ventilation resistance of conditioned air, and surely removing dust, and further having a compact and inexpensive air filter cleaning function. SOLUTION: This indoor unit of the air conditioner includes a dust box 31 disposed at a windward side of the air filter in a state of crossing the air filter, having an opening on a face opposed to the air filter, and receiving dust inside thereof, and a rotating brush 30 rotatably supported in the dust box so that it is partially exposed to an outer face from the opening 32, and removing the dust attached to the air filter, and an air filter cleaning unit 20 is removed the dust attached to the surface of the air filter by the rotating brush and is collected the dust in the dust box. The rotating brush 30 constitutes a charged electrode which has a conductive property, and to which high voltage is applied, and a plate-shaped opposite electrode plate 33 movable in the longitudinal direction to the dust box, and having a conductive property is disposed on an opposite position at a leeward side of the rotating brush.
