PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately carry out selective cleaning action by surely blocking tubes by a carriage. SOLUTION: This fluid jetting device blocks the tubes connecting caps and a suction pump by compressing them by the carriage. Which tube from among the tubes connected to the caps is compressed is decided in accordance with the position of the carriage. On the basis of a load when the carriage is moved forward and backward, the stop position of the carriage is decided. When the carriage compresses the tube, a load when the carriage is moved forward and backward is increased by the compression of the tube. Consequently the device can detect the position where the carriage compresses the tube on the basis of the load. Controlling the carriage to the thus detected stopping position permits the tube to be surely blocked.
