摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid ejecting apparatus which can selectively suck a plurality of cap internal spaces without increasing the size thereof. SOLUTION: The printer includes a carriage which can be reciprocated supporting a recording head for ejecting an ink from a plurality of nozzles, a cap which comes in contact with the recording head to individually surround the nozzles thereby forming the plurality of cap internal spaces, a tube pump which can suck each cap internal space via a first and a second discharge tubes 35 and 37, and a selective blocking means which can selectively block each of the discharge tubes 35 and 37 following the reciprocation of the carriage in a maintenance region. The selective blocking means includes a pin 45 which is reciprocated following the reciprocation of the carriage in the maintenance region, and a first-a fourth cam surfaces 79b, 80b, 81 and 82 which engage with the pin 45 every time the pin 45 is reciprocated and guide the pin 45 to respective blocking positions B and C for blocking the discharge tubes 35 and 37 in order.
