PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal controller which prevents decrease of traffic flow ratio at an intersection by preventing a large vehicle from being a signal-waiting head vehicle. SOLUTION: The signal controller 1 determines the average speed of the vehicle at an inflow link and whether or not the vehicle is a large vehicle, using a vehicle sensing signal as output of a sensor 11. The signal controller 1 determines whether or not the large vehicle having passed through the sensing place of the sensor 11 could be the signal-waiting head vehicle at the intersection, and if it determines that the vehicle could be the head vehicle, it extends the main aspect of a current cycle to pass the large vehicle without stopping at the intersection. Thereby, the large vehicle, such as a truck or an autobus is prevented from being the head of the signal-waiting stopping vehicles at the intersection. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
