PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a metallic composite material having high thermal conductivity, with which damage to dispersed grains in the manufacturing process is reduced by utilizing an electro-discharging plasma sintering method. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the metallic composite material includes: using the mixture of two metallic grains (low-melting point metallic grain and high-melting point metallic grain) having 10-200°C melting points and dispersion grains; and raising the temperature of this mixture along a solid-phase line in the solid-liquid coexisting region in the state-diagram of the low-melting point metallic grains, and sintering it.
