<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle that allows a duty ratio of a step-up converter to be more properly set according to a battery state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The temperature and power-storage amount (SOC) of a battery 40 are applied to a map in which a relationship between the temperature, the power-storage amount (SOC), and an open voltage of the battery 40 is predetermined so as to derive the open voltage of the battery 40. A lower-limit duty ratio is set on the basis of the derived open voltage of the battery 40 and a voltage supplied to an inverter 32. A control duty ratio set on the basis of required torque required for a motor 30 is restricted by the lower-limit duty ratio so as to set a target duty ratio and to execute switching control of a step-up converter 42 by using the set target duty ratio. By this, the target duty ratio of the step-up converter 42 can be more properly set according to a state of the battery 40, thereby allowing performance of the battery 40 to be further exerted while more properly suppressing deterioration in the battery 40.
