PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric heating needle capable of reliably controlling temperatures and easy to manufacture, which is an instrument to apply cautery treatment to a neoplasm by electric resistance heating. SOLUTION: Heating elements 21 coated with a heat resistant insulating material such as a polyimide tube 22, 24 and insulating them from a pipe 11 and each other, and a thermocouple 3 are provided in parallel in the inside of the hollow pipe 11, the tip of which is blockaded and the preferable diameter of which is not less than 1.2 mm and not more than 2.5 mm, to form this electric heating needle. The heating element 21 is formed by winding a heating wire around a thread-like core material having heat resistance in a coil shape. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
