摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique reducing the load on a battery of an excessive energy recovered by regenerative braking. <P>SOLUTION: In a brake controller, a regenerative braking imparts a regenerative braking force by a motor to a wheel mounted on a vehicle. The controller computes a target total braking force as a target for controlling the vehicle, and determines a target regenerative braking force generated by the regenerative braking so as to satisfy the target total braking force, while a target hydraulic braking force generated by hydraulic braking is determined so as to satisfy the insufficient target total braking force. The controller, further, exerts cooperative control to the regenerative braking and the hydraulic braking, in response to the target regenerative braking force and the target hydraulic braking force. The controller further controls the regenerative braking, in response to a reduced regenerative braking force obtained by reducing the target regenerative braking force, when the target regenerative braking force is larger than a fixed value. The controller controls the hydraulic braking, in response to an increased target hydraulic braking force obtained by increasing the target hydraulic braking force so as to compensate for the reduced target regenerative braking force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
