PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus adapted to decide a television broadcast being viewed using collected information.

SOLUTION: An information collecting unit 102 extracts an acknowledgement to a process of changing a channel supplied to a tuner 120 from a broadcast processor 101 based on an input from a user. The information collecting unit 102 extracts an acknowledgement to sound information supplied to a sound card driver 142 from the broadcast processor 101 and to a process that instructs mute etc. in a sound output unit 140. A viewing decision unit 103 decides a broadcast content being viewed, in the case an acknowledgement to a process of instructing an operation of the tuner 120 and an acknowledgement to the process in the sound output unit 140 supplied to the sound output unit 140 from the broadcast processor 101 are identical.
