<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide preferably lead- and arsenic-free optical glasses suitable for the application fields of imaging, projection, sensors, microscopy, medical technology, digital projection, photolithography, laser technology, wafer/chip technology, and for telecommunication, optical communications engineering and optics/lighting in the automotive sector, having a refractive index of 1.83≤n<SB>d</SB>≤1.95 and an Abbe number of 24≤ν<SB>d</SB>≤35 with good chemical resistance and excellent crystallization stability. <P>SOLUTION: The optical glass comprises the following composition (in mass% based on oxide): SiO<SB>2</SB>2-8, B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>15-22, La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>35-42, ZnO 10-18, TiO<SB>2</SB>9-15, ZrO<SB>2</SB>3-10, Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>4-10, and WO<SB>3</SB>>0.5-3. Besides a maximum GeO<SB>2</SB>, Ag<SB>2</SB>O and BaO proportion of 5 mass% each, as well as the conventional fining agents, they may additionally contain up to at most in total 5 mass% of the oxides (Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, MgO, CaO, SrO, P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>) and up to at most in total 5 mass% of the components (F, Ta<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>). The glasses are preferably free of alkali metal oxides and Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, as well as Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, Gd<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and/or Yb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
