<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a photographer to selectively apply image processing to a region of a subject intended by the photographer. <P>SOLUTION: From image data obtained by imaging using an imaging device in which a focus detection pixel is disposed for each of predetermined blocks obtained by dividing a screen, a subject is detected and a subject region is specified. Furthermore, based on output of the focus detection pixels, a defocus amount is detected for each block. A representative value, of the defocus amount detected in a block including the subject region, in the subject region is calculated for each subject region and distribution of the defocus amount for the unit of a subject region is detected. Image processing is applied to image data for each detected subject region for an amount corresponding to the corresponding representative value. When image processing is blur addition processing, the amount of blurring to be added is reduced as the representative value becomes smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
