PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain enhancement of usability of a user by determining a kind of bookbinding capable of being selected corresponding to folding treatment at a system side and showing it to the user. SOLUTION: In the bookbinding system, a plurality of post-treatment devices including a folding device and a ring binder bookbinding device are connected to a latter stage of MFP in which a visual image is formed on a recording medium and is outputted, and bookbinding treatment is performed. The folding device can perform setting of a plurality of folding kinds including Z-folding and double-folding, and when the kind of folding is not a kind that cannot perform the ring bind bookbinding treatment, simultaneous selection of folding of the kind and the ring bind bookbinding treatment is made impossible (Step S101 to S107). A selection picture that prevents the simultaneous selection from being performed on an operation display means is set, and that effect that the simultaneous selection is impossible is informed to the user.
