PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material having a practical strength while holding advantages (fine pore diameter, high heat resistance, organic solvent resistance and high liquid permeability) of a nonwoven fabric composed of fine cellulose fiber as much as possible by a water-based film-forming method, and optionally to provide the sheet material capable of supplementing even the defect (low water resistance) of the nonwoven fabric. SOLUTION: The composite sheet material has a weight within a range of from 5-100 g/m<SP>2</SP>, contains a cellulose microfibril (component A) having a number average fiber diameter of≥2 nm and≤300 nm, and one or more kinds of filler material (component B) selected from the group consisting of inorganic particles and polymer particles regulated so that the fraction of the component A may be≥30 wt.% and≤90 wt.%, and has an air permeability of≥10 s/100 cc and≤2,000 s/100 cc per 10 g/m<SP>2</SP>weight.
