PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical type drying apparatus capable of continuously drying objects to be dried. SOLUTION: The inner space of a drying tank 4 is partitioned into a mixing and drying zone MZ to dry an object 3 to be dried by pressing the object 3 to be dried against a heat transfer surface 2 by a centrifugal force P while placing and winding the charged object 3 to be dried onto rotating winding blades 5 and a drying zone DZ arranged below the mixing and drying zone MZ. An upper screw conveyer 15 for leading out the object 3 to be dried from the drying tank 4 is connected to the upper part of the mixing and drying zone MZ, and a lower screw conveyor 13 for charging the object 3 to be dried into the drying tank 4 is connected to the lower side of the mixing and drying zone MZ. A vertical transfer pipe 17 for transferring the object 3 to be dried led out from the upper screw conveyor 15 to the lower screw conveyor 13 is connected between the upper screw conveyor 15 and the lower screw conveyor 13, and a discharge screw conveyor 21 for continuously discharging the dried object to be dried is connected to the drying zone DZ.
