<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystalline polyester resin composition having advantageous flame retardancy even as an extremely thin-walled molded article thereof and capable of obtaining a molded article thereof excellent in hydrolysis resistance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystalline polyester resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a liquid crystalline polyester resin containing specific structure units (I) -(-O-Ph-CO-)-, (II) -(-O-R1-O-)-, and (IV) -(-CO-R2-CO-)- or (I) -(-O-Ph-CO-)-, (II) -(-O-R1-O-)-, (III) -(-O-CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>-O-)-, and (IV) -(-CO-R2-CO-)- (wherein R1 and R2 each represent a group of a structure having a specific aromatic ring), (B) 0.5 to 15 pts.wt. of an organic phosphorus compound represented by the following structural formula, and (C) 0.01 to 5 pts.wt. of silica.
