PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for remote maintenance, which can reduce cost while ensuring high reliability high speed. SOLUTION: A personal computer 10 for maintenance is connected to a RAS device 21 through an ISDN 3, and sets Internet connecting information in the RAS device. The RAS device is connected to the Internet by using the Internet connecting information set by the personal computer for maintenance, and transmits a global IP address obtained from the Internet to the personal computer for maintenance through the ISDN. The personal computer for maintenance is VPN-connected to the RAS device through the Internet 4 by using the received global IP address.
