<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic storage medium, an information storage device, and a control device, in which a positioning control for off-track of a magnetic head is made accurately. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A magnetic dots 18 are formed in a staggered state, while position control of a magnetic head 13 is performed based on displacement quantity of the magnetic head 13 detected based on phase difference during off-track by two preambles 32 and 33 formed so as to inverse, with a track center 17 as a symmetrical axis.
