PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy by making unnecessary the starting of an internal combustion engine just for a purge process.

SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 10 equipped with an intake air passage 111 including a throttle valve 114 and purging evaporated fuel to the intake air passage 111 includes an engine control unit 61 controlling a throttle valve 114 to a full close position (S20) before the engine 10 stops (S50). Negative pressure necessary for purge process is secured by fully closing the throttle valve before stop of the internal combustion engine.
