<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent leakage of information in a recording medium even when a user forgets to pull a removable storage medium out of a device. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes; a means for detecting an idle state; a means for detecting the operation of the image processing apparatus by a user; a timer for measuring an idle time on the basis of the detection of the idle state; and an attachment/detachment detection means for detecting the attachment/detachment state of a removable storage medium, and determines, when it is detected that the removable storage medium has been mounted by the attachment/detachment detection means, that a user has forgotten to pull the removable storage medium out of the image processing apparatus under such conditions that a prescribed time has passed since the measurement of the idle state of the image processing apparatus by a timer, and that the operation of the device by the user has not been detected during such the time, and automatically erases the information in the storage medium on the basis of the determination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
