PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receptacle or a multi-tap with a grounding electrode in which whether or not a grounding wire is connected to a grounding terminal of the receptacle and the multi-tap can be checked from the vicinity of an insertion hole for inserting a plug to the receptacle on every day base without a trouble and without requiring a commercial power supply upon its installation or the like, and when a fault is predicted in a grounding system, the comprehension of a failure point and analysis of its cause can be made promptly. SOLUTION: The receptacle with a grounding electrode has a grounding wire connection state checking means which has a checking state discrimination portion 100 which works when the grounding wire is connected to the grounding terminal and can discriminate from the outside whether the grounding wire is connected to the grounding terminal, installed at the ground terminal part, and the checking state discrimination portion is arranged on a side where an insertion plug is inserted, and the discrimination of the checking state can be performed from the vicinity of the insertion hole for inserting the insertion plug.
