<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display medium controlling the orientation of a plurality of liquid crystal layers individually by switching a frequency of an applied voltage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In each of the liquid crystal layers 250B and 250G of the display medium, a first threshold value and a frequency dependency of an impedance are set so that when a high-frequency recording voltage is applied, a voltage value of a divided voltage Vb applied to the liquid crystal layer 250B becomes not lower than its first threshold value while a voltage value of a divided voltage Vg applied to the liquid crystal layer 250G becomes lower than its first threshold value if a voltage Vbg applied to a laminated liquid crystal layer 300 has a previously set voltage value, and when a low-frequency recording voltage is applied, a voltage value of the voltage Vb becomes lower than the first threshold value of the liquid crystal layer 250B while a voltage value of the voltage Vg becomes not lower than the first threshold of the liquid crystal layer 250G if the voltage Vbg has the previously set voltage value.
