PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin composition exhibiting high elasticity, high heat resistance, and high toughness as a matrix resin for a fiber reinforced composite material while indicating high tensile strength as a fiber reinforced composite material, and high adhesiveness with carbon fibers. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition for the fiber reinforced composite material is used which contains, as indispensable constituents, a constituent (A): colloidally dispersed nano-silica particles, and a constituent (B): an epoxy resin having at least one structure of a heterocyclic ring structure and a condensed ring structure.
