<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross fin tube type heat exchanger for an evaporator, using a refrigerant mainly composed of carbon dioxide as a refrigerant and having excellent evaporation heat transfer characteristics. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The cross fin tube type heat exchanger for the evaporator includes an aluminum fin and an inner helically grooved heat transfer pipe installed in the aluminum fin, and uses the refrigerant mainly composed of carbon dioxide. When the bottom thickness of the inner helically grooved heat transfer pipe is represented as t (mm) and the pipe outer diameter as D (mm), a formula (1) of 0.055≤t/D≤0.09 is satisfied.
