<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a passage forming cover in a water-cooled internal combustion engine in which a lead-out passage and a lead-in passage of a cooling structure are formed by the passage forming cover attached to an engine block, and to improve cooling performance of the cooling structure that includes the lead-out passage and the lead-in passage formed by the passage forming cover. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The cooling structure C of the water-cooled internal combustion engine E includes water jackets 10a, 10b, 11a, 11b provided in engine blocks 1, 3a, 3b through which cooling water circulates, a lead-out passage 42 that brings the cooling water from the water jackets 11a, 11b to a radiator 12, and a lead-in passage 51 that brings the cooling water from the radiator 12 to the water jackets 10a, 10b. The lead-out passage 42 and the lead-in passage 51 are formed by a single passage forming cover 60 alone, which is attached to a cylinder block 1, and the interior space of the passage forming cover 60 is divided by a partition wall 62b that constitutes a passage wall shared by the lead-out passage 42 and the lead-in passage 51 to form the lead-out passage 42 and the lead-in passage 51.
