The claimed security grille structure with decorative overlays relates to construction, more specifically to structures for protective closure devices, and can be used to secure window, door and other openings in buildings of different types against intrusion as well as serving a decorative purpose. The decorative grille structure consists of a grille, generally made of metal bars, and decorative overlays mounted at the points at which the bars of the grille intersect. The bars are provided with grooves which cooperate to form locked joints at said points, wherein the joints are fastened by welding and the grooves themselves are provided in the bars at distances equal to the corresponding side of a cell of the grille. The width of each groove is equal to the width of the bar inserted therein, and the depth of the groove is equal to half the thickness of the bar inserted therein. The decorative overlays are mounted on both sides of the grille surface and are fastened to the grille structure at least by the self-engagement of projections on the overlays with the surface of the grille or of another overlay at given points in such a way as to ensure firm fastening. |
