<p>The method involves calibrating a navigation instrument by automatic comparison of measuring data i.e. speed, with measuring data of a satellite navigation system in a reference travel. A deflection table for an electronic compass is determined. The navigation instrument is integrated into a watercraft, aircraft or land craft. Goods for calibrations are calculated during the reference travel for evaluating quality of a correction parameter. Error in the deflection table of the electronic compass is detected. An independent claim is also included for a device for automatic calibration of a navigation instrument.</p> |
