<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preferred shift performed between the mode and state of a UMTS network. <P>SOLUTION: An improved method and apparatus for the performance of a user owned battery are given, in a wire-less network having a plurality of radio resource control (RRC) states (122, 124, 126, 128). The method includes a step of monitoring an application data exchange, a step of determining the case where the data exchanges of all applications present on the user owned apparatus are not expected, and a step of initiating the shift performed from the user owned apparatus to a low-battery requiring type radio resource control state or mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
