<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter, reducing damage to an inner wall of a lumen such as a blood vessel and improving the indwelling fixing force as compared with conventional balloon catheters. <P>SOLUTION: This balloon catheter at least includes: a flexible tube having one main lumen penetrating in the longitudinal direction and at least one subordinate inner lumen; and a balloon attached to the distal end side of the flexible tube and having an inflatable part 11 and non-inflatable parts 14 at both its ends. The balloon is shaped substantially symmetrical around the substantially central part between the distal end and the proximal end, and the wall thickness T2 in the vicinities 12 of both ends of the inflatable part of the balloon is thinnest. The balloon is gradually increased in wall thickness as it goes from the vicinities of both the ends toward the substantially central part to have the largest wall thickness at the substantially central part T1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
