PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to quickly acquire his or her desired information in an information distribution system 1.

SOLUTION: The information distribution system is provided with: a fixed terminal 3 equipped with a database 31 for storing information for each predetermined category, a control part 32 as an information request receiving means for receiving an information request from a portable terminal 2, and a control part 32 for reading information belonging to the category designated by the information request from the portable terminal 2 received by the control part 32 from the database 31, and transmitting it to the portable terminal 2; and a portable terminal 2 equipped with a control part 16 as an information requesting means for requesting information to the fixed terminal 3 by designating the category and a control part 16 as an information receiving means for receiving the information transmitted from the fixed terminal 3.
