PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain reduction in travel performance after eliminating a slip by idle rotation of a driving wheel, in a vehicle mounted with a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: When the slip by the idle rotation of both wheels of the driving wheels is caused, a target rotating speed Ni* is set by using a shift map based on accelerator opening Acc and a vehicle speed V when the vehicle speed V is a predetermined vehicle speed Vref or more (S120, S150 and S130). When the vehicle speed V is less than the predetermined vehicle speed Vref, the target rotating speed Ni* is set so as to hold the gear ratio set at occurrence time when the slip is caused (S180 and S190). A CVT is controlled by setting a limiting rotating speed Nelim to the target rotating speed Ni* within a range of being not lower than the limiting gear ratioγref when an engine speed limiting request is made (S200-S240).
